Super Mafia Land

"Brilliant"

submission: Super Mafia Land
date: February 22, 2009

It's really sad that people can't read and see that this is a dedication to Super Mario Bros. 2, and therefore, an amazing interpretation of it. Maybe people just haven't played the original, but this game does it justice. You make sure to stick the original while also changing it up a tad. Nothing really to critique here.

Magi Wars

"Good until"

submission: Magi Wars
date: January 31, 2009

The game was good until I walked into one of the palaces and my mage started flying around the screen. While entertaining, it left me with a screen that somehow lacked my little mage guy. Definite bug there. Second, I didn't enjoy it very much when the lightning missiles I bought at the end of one level didn't carry over to the next. Besides those issues, it's a moderately fun game.

Free Board

"Enjoyable"

submission: Free Board
date: January 15, 2009

I really liked this game! Nice graphics and simple game play that's all you really need. I especially enjoyed the "boarder rotation" aspect, considering that it required a bit of thought in deciding how to navigate your boarder. Great game.

FPS Performance Preload 2

"Brilliant!"

date: January 14, 2009

Such a great idea! I'm surprised, though, that you were actually able to improve upon the first one! :) I see no problems with it, except that I got an "undefined". It's probably just my laptop, but what does that mean exactly?

Author's Response:

um?? hmm when did you get the error, at the very beginning cycle?
it might be because the first cycle doesn't calculate the average because it would be division by zero.. i have to wait till the second cycle in order to get the time delay of the frame..

Zombie Disaster Quiz

"I have to compare...."

date: January 13, 2009

While this quiz is good, there is another zombie survival quiz that is longer, with a results overview and other features. So, I sadly have to think of both. Your quiz is good, and doesn't have any "obvious" questions that I really noticed, but making the graphics better might be a good idea. It's definitely a fun quiz, but I would recommend adding more questions and basically, making it look nicer. Good job, though!

Mission Impossible - G5

"Hmmm...."

date: November 17, 2008

Well, considering this your first submission, it's actually quite good. I would take out the second "I really made this!" It might seem suspicious to some people. as for the game itself, the menu was pretty good. Could be a bit more exciting, maybe some music (possibly more than one song). Find that the first level could be easily replaced by a semi-witty instructions page. The impossible mission itself was kind of daunting. Just hitting your audience with such a task from the very beginning maybe isn't the best idea. Include other levels, maybe, or some training levels that display different aspects in each level (i.e. lasers and tricky path shapes). I do, however, love the originality you showcased in what is normally a generic genre. I think you could go a step further with your obstacles, though.

So, you have a great base, but you just need to build up. Keep up the good work.

Watergrim

"Imaginative...but..."

submission: Watergrim
date: November 11, 2008

While this game was definitely artistic, its game play was definitely lacking. The mouse controls were very sloppy and difficult to use most of the time, and the crow level was just downright cruel. with fixed controls and more creative levels, though, this could be a really good game.

The Stick Game v2.1

"....."

date: November 11, 2008

I'm honestly trying to find a silver lining, but I can't. The background was a solid color, and considering that your game wasn't inventive or artsy, that's a big no. The character design....stick people...minus the funny. Stick people are rarely acceptable unless they are doing something humorous or bad ass. Your game consisted of a boring plot, as well. The most deplorable element, however, was the gameplay, considering you simply clicked on whatever was on screen. This game played like an interactive story....a story that no one should ever have to read. Until you can submit something ten times as good as this....don't submit anything. You'll only end up ridiculed, and no one likes that.

"Witty"

submission: :the game:
date: November 11, 2008

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Well, I'm not entirely sure that I can call it a game, as it is more of an interactive display of clever humor. Despite some repetitiveness, the shear hilarity kept me playing for quite awhile. Great job, and way to do something different!

"Wow"

submission: Frantic
date: November 9, 2008

While I normally try to avoid generic exclamations like the one above, I can think of no better way to describe this game. By using a plain background, you were able to create a beautiful storm of color, as if splashing paint on the canvas that was the background. I mean, look....you just made me get corny and poetic. Simply brilliant game, though, from the bosses and their unique firing patterns to the slew of power-ups. I actually had to force myself to stop playing. Keep up the good work. Wait....scratch that....keep up the AMAZING work!
