"Great"

date: June 18, 2008

I'm normally not the biggest fan of techno, but I really enjoyed this. It has a nice beat, doesn't get boring or repetitive, and I absolutely love the piano! My only suggestion is that you don't stop. Keep up the great work!

"Togaku meets Jazz?"

date: June 16, 2008

Although it got somewhat repetitive after awhile, I liked the sound it had. I agree with Metal-Therapy on the jazz idea. It seems to have some influences of both Togaku and jazz. I don't think that's what you were going for, but that's the vibe that I pick up. I'm definitely glad to see something different like this, though, and it wasn't really all that bad. The only thing is to keep the song exciting and engaging, considering that I thought the song had actually looped, only to find that it was still on its first run.

Author's Response:

The form is quite simple and linear, so it doesn't have a climax per se. This lends itself nicely to the idea that it paints a scene (passive) rather than telling a story (expressive). Jazz licks snuck in there, guilty as charged, since all three parts were improvised separately. I think if people approach this from the passive mindset, without expecting excitement, this is a little sleeper that can pleasantly surprise.
